“After the Storm” is a common title but the uprooted trees were so dramatic I was moved to paint this.
Hoff & 8th on a sunny morning. Colorful storefronts and low, slanting light. Nice.
Rose Canyon Lake is one nearby summer spot where one can find relief from the summer heat. Here, dad was teaching his little girl to fish. When she caught one and reeled it in, dad told her to unhook it. That she did, with a squeamish squeal and tossed it back!
“Last Horse in the Stable” depicts the mural in the original Rillito Race Track stables. Along the door frame are halter name plates of champions from here.
“White House on University” is an example of the West University neighborhood homes. Craftsman style using volcanic rock from nearby Sentinel Peak quarry.
St. John’s Episcopal Church in Old Bisbee cradled a garden of blooms that surrounded a lonely fire hydrant.
“Sabino Saguaro” was home to some woodpeckers–there were many holes along its trunk.
“Clawson Ave. Morning” is a Bisbee Plein Air Fest piece
“Cafe Sunday” on the patio
“Brewery Gulch White House” caught my eye for its dramatic perch.
“Grill, Charred” depicts a downtown Tucson landmark after a gutting fire.
“Solo”…sometimes there’s only one.
“The Wills House, Bisbee, Arizona” Originally a bricklayer’s home, now renovated.
